F1 Race-Used Part for Sale Item: Carbon Engine Cover Car/Engine: Sauber C22
This is a carbon fiber engine cover from the Sauber C22 Formula 1 car, in its B-spec configuration. Used during the 2003 F1 season, this component was engineered to manage complex airflow around the rear of the chassis, guiding clean air toward the rear wing while extracting hot air from the engine bay. Its geometry was refined for improved cooling efficiency of the Petronas-badged Ferrari V10 engine and better aerodynamic balance.
Constructed entirely from lightweight carbon composite, the cover combines high torsional stiffness with minimal mass, reducing the car’s overall weight while maintaining structural integrity. Quick-release fasteners allowed for rapid removal during pit stops and maintenance, a crucial feature in Formula 1 operations. The B-spec version introduced subtle aerodynamic updates compared to the initial design, aimed at improving high-speed stability and overall efficiency.
