The McLaren MP4-17 was the car with which the McLaren team competed in the 2002 and 2003 Formula One World Championships. The chassis was designed by Adrian Newey, Mike Coughlan, Neil Oatley and Peter Prodromou with Mario Illien designing the bespoke Ilmor engine. The car was driven by Briton David Coulthard and Finn Kimi Räikkönen in both seasons.
The Mercedes engine FO110M is a V10 3.0L naturally-aspirated engine designed by Mercedes and built by Ilmor for the 2002 Formula One Season. The engine powered McLaren’s MP4-17 car.

The proposed chassis, MP04/17-02, participated in 3 Grand Prix, Australia, Malaysia and Brazil. Driven by David Coulthard with a 3rd place at Interlagos Brazil. It then served as a T-car for Kimi Raikkonen.
