F1 Race-Used Part for Sale Item: Carbon Headrest
In preparation for the 2006 Formula 1 season, BMW used the Sauber C24 chassis fitted with a BMW engine and renamed it the BMW Sauber C24B. The car featured a lightweight carbon fiber headrest designed to maximize driver safety and comfort, supporting the head and neck during high-speed cornering and heavy braking.
The headrest — originally from the C24 — was painted in BMW’s white color to match the C24B livery, reflecting the transition from Sauber to BMW’s first full works entry in Formula 1. Its shape was optimized for aerodynamics and to fit the HANS device, meeting FIA safety regulations for the 2006 season.
As a component from the first BMW Sauber Formula 1 car, this headrest is a notable piece of the team’s early history and its entry into the championship as a constructor.
