Original Race-Used Cosworth CA V8 Intake Left Camshaft
The Cosworth CA was introduced in 2006 with Williams, marking Cosworth’s return to the production of naturally aspirated V8 engines.
Capable of reaching 20,000 rpm, the CA set a new benchmark for F1 V8 powerplants. After a brief sabbatical, Cosworth returned to the grid in 2010 with an updated version, the CA2010. By then, regulations had reduced the maximum engine speed to 18,000 rpm, yet the CA2010 was still capable of producing more than 775 bhp.
The CA2010 powered Williams as well as the three new F1 teams that joined the grid in 2010: Virgin Racing, Lotus Racing and Hispania Racing. The engine remained in competition for four seasons, bowing out at the end of 2013 after powering the rebranded Marussia team.
