The Judd CV is a 3.5-liter, 90-degree V8 Formula One engine developed by Engine Developments Ltd. under the Judd name. Designed for the naturally aspirated regulations of the late 1980s, it featured an advanced lightweight aluminum alloy block and heads, four valves per cylinder.

The Omega piston design optimized combustion efficiency through a carefully profiled crown shape that improved mixture turbulence and flame propagation, enabling higher compression ratios and enhanced thermal efficiency. Operating at speeds exceeding 11,000 rpm, the CV V8 produced around 600 horsepower, delivering smooth and linear power delivery.

Renowned for its mechanical simplicity, low weight, and high reliability, the Judd CV became a preferred choice for privateer Formula One teams and later evolved into successful derivatives for endurance and Formula 3000 racing.
