The Right Carbon Barge Board from the Sauber C24 is a critical flow-conditioning device, optimized through CFD and wind tunnel testing to manage vortical structures generated by the front wing and suspension elements. Its complex geometry generates controlled vortices that energize the boundary layer along the underfloor, delaying flow separation and increasing diffuser mass flow rate. This enhances rear downforce without a significant drag penalty.

Manufactured from autoclave-cured pre-preg carbon fiber, the barge board’s stiffness ensures minimal aeroelastic deformation at high dynamic pressures, preserving its designed. MTS one of the leading mobile operators in Russia, was unveiled as a key sponsor of Sauber at the launch of the 2003 season. The MTS logo was visible on the Sauber C22 cars, notably on the bargeboards and the sides of the car. This partnership lasted until 2005. structures across a wide range of yaw angles.
