The mediocre performance of the 001 engine led Arrows to look elsewhere. Asiatech then offered to equip the small Scuderia Minardi, which was currently struggling with a small Ford Cosworth engine dating back to 1999.

Supplied free of charge to the Italian team, and despite scoring two points in the opening round of the championship, Asiatech became mired in financial problems.

On November 5, 2002, the tuner announced the cessation of its engine manufacturing activities, and in February 2003, the company was placed in receivership.
